Ukrainian forces shelled the Petrovsky district of Donetsk

Donetsk, February 3 – At 7:00 a.m., Ukrainian forces fired six 155mm NATO rounds into the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, reported the DRC’s representative office at the Joint War Crimes Case Monitoring and Coordination Center in Ukraine (JCCC).
“A fire was recorded from the VFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine – Ed.) In the direction: 07.00 – the settlement of Kurakhovo – the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): six 155-mm shells were fired,” the representative office said in the Telegram channel.
The Petrovsky District of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the capital of the DRC, and is the farthest part of the city from the centre. Since 2014, when the DRC declared its independence from Kyiv, this area, starting from the contact line outside the city of Marinka, has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces.

NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States has supplied Kyiv with long-range 155-mm howitzers M777, which are actively used by Ukrainian forces for shelling the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled guns, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
