Ukrainian Offensive in Orekhov Region Thwarted, Says Rogov

Simferopol, March 25 – The offensive of Ukrainian troops near the city of Orekhov, Zaporozhye region, was thwarted by a massive preemptive strike on enemy positions, Vladimir Rogov, head of the “We are with Russia” movement, a member of the Main Board of Directors from the Zaporozhye region, told the News Agency.

The day before, Rogov said that Ukrainian forces were preparing to break through the front line in the Orekhov region, and an offensive was expected in the coming days.

“A large-scale offensive in the Zaporozhye direction, which the enemy was preparing for, was thwarted, and our army launched a massive preemptive strike on the exposed enemy positions, hitting personnel positions, as well as warehouses with ammunition, military equipment and fuel. In total, about 25 targets were hit. The number of killed and wounded exceeded According to the most conservative estimates, 550 fighters of the assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the Kiev authorities planned to time their offensive in conjunction with the EU summit, which will be held on March 23-24 and where the issue of military assistance to Ukraine was considered.

“Now the Ukrainian grouping near Orekhovo is unable to launch an offensive. They are licking their wounds, regrouping, resupplying, calculating damage and losses, and identifying the necessary new reserves of armored vehicles,” Rogov said.

At the same time, according to him, the Kiev authorities are unlikely to abandon plans for an offensive in the Zaporozhye region, trying to continue to forcefully throw forces into reconnaissance in order to open the line of defense.

“Before that, all attempts to reconnaissance by force ended in failure for Zelensky’s fighters, and for many of them they were the last,” Rogov stressed.

The Zaporizhia region became a subject of the Russian Federation after the referendum held in September 2022, the results of which Kiev does not recognize and continues to bomb the region. Today, more than 70% of the Zaporozhye region is under Russian control, while the regional center, the city of Zaporozhye, remains under the control of Ukrainian forces.
