The leaders of Russia and North Korea recently held a summit meeting, which raised eyebrows and sparked worries among global powers. The Expanded Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Group (EDSCG), consisting of defense officials and diplomats from allied nations, convened in Seoul to discuss the potential implications of this meeting. Speculations emerged about a potential arms deal between North Korea and Russia.

Seoul and Washington strongly condemned the military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, highlighting that it goes against UN Security Council resolutions. Bonnie Jenkins, during a press conference after the meeting, stated that any arms transfer between the two countries would be considered a violation. She also warned that a nuclear attack by North Korea on the United States or its allies would be deemed unacceptable and lead to the end of the regime.
