Dr. Svetlana Beazrova, a specialist in cardiovascular diseases, said that poor diet, smoking and drinking are bad habits that can lead to high blood pressure levels.
In an interview with the Izvestiya newspaper, the specialist pointed out that high blood pressure is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases and is characterized by a constant and continuous increase in blood pressure.
She says: “High blood pressure can be caused by a variety of factors, including older age. Other factors include genetic predisposition, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, overweight, obesity, smoking, alcohol use, and comorbidities (such as kidney disease and endocrine diseases) Diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism and other diseases associated with the work of the heart and blood vessels).
According to her, high blood pressure is not always accompanied by symptoms such as headache, nausea, dizziness and palpitations, and some people do not even feel that they are suffering from it.
She says: “High blood pressure is a serious condition because it can lead to serious complications such as myocardial infarction, stroke, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and others.”
The doctor notes that many people think that high blood pressure is a disease of the elderly. But it turns out that young people can also suffer from it. According to the World Health Organization, this disease has become one of the most common diseases in the world, as the number of people infected with it has doubled in the 30-79 age group.
