Uruguay National Football Team Appoints Marcelo Bielsa as Coach
Moscow, May 16 – Argentine Marcelo Bielsa has become the coach of the Uruguay national football team, according to the team’s official Twitter.
The term of the contract with the 67-year-old specialist was not specified. Previously, the acting head coach of the two-time world champion was Marcello Brogli.
Bielsa’s previous job was Leeds United, which he left in 2022. Under the Argentine, the team returned to the Premier League.
At the international level, Bielsa has worked with teams from Argentina and Chile. With the Argentine national team, he won the Olympic tournament, as well as the silver medal of the America’s Cup.
