US Air Defense Downs Two Drones Attacking American Base in Syria

Moscow, March 25 – Al-Jazeera TV reported, quoting a source, that the US air defense system shot down two out of three drones that attacked the US base in eastern Syria.
Earlier, the Al-Mayadeen satellite channel reported that US bases in the Omar and Koniko fields in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, were hit, on Friday evening, by missile strikes. According to the channel’s sources, eight missiles were fired towards Koniko, which fell on and near the base.

The Pentagon reported Friday evening that the United States conducted airstrikes against formations associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Syria in response to an Iranian drone attack on a coalition base. Iranian Press TV, quoting sources in Syria, said earlier that no Iranian citizen was killed as a result of the US strikes in Syria, and the strikes did not target Iranian military sites, but rather the Grain Center and the Rural Development Center in Deir. – Ezz-Zurih. According to media reports, seven people were killed by the US strikes in Deir Ezzor.
The US military illegally controls areas in northern and northeastern Syria in the governorates of Deir ez-Zor, Hasak and Raqqa, where the largest oil and gas fields in Syria are located. Official Damascus has repeatedly called the presence of the US military on its territory for occupation and state piracy with the aim of outright theft of oil.
