US House of Representatives Speaker Holds Meeting with Taiwan President

Washington, April 5 – US House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy met Taiwan’s Chief of Staff Tsai Ing-wen, who is heading to the US, CNN reports.
CNN showed the participants shaking hands at the meeting, which was held in California.
China traditionally reacts negatively to foreign contacts of representatives of the Taiwanese administration, considering the island as its province. She calls on the United States to refrain from overreaction, emphasizing that Tsai Ing-wen is on her way to Latin America.

According to media reports, the meeting is taking place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, located in the southern California city of Simi Valley, near Los Angeles.
