US seeks greater clarity on the possibility of extending the grain agreement

Washington, May 17 – National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the US administration believes that extending the grain deal is a good thing, but that the world deserves certainty about its prospects.

“Yes, there was an extension of the Black Sea grain deal, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, Russia continued, even at the time of the extension, to hold it rhetorically hostage… hinting that its days are numbered. We just think that the world is worth making sure of,” he told reporters. This grain corridor will continue to operate in a sustainable manner.”
