US, South Korea Negotiating Missile Supply Deal

Seoul, March 2 – South Korea and the United States have agreed to supply a new batch of ammunition for the artillery, but on the condition that once again the United States alone is the end user, no transfer to third countries is envisaged, a South Korean military source said. the News Agency.
Earlier, South Korean television channel KBS reported that the United States is negotiating with South Korea to supply it with another batch of artillery shells. According to the Korea Times, the US Department of Defense confirmed that Washington is negotiating the sale of ammunition with a non-state South Korean defense industrial company.
“The negotiations are taking place on the condition that the United States is the end user (of the missiles),” said the the News Agency interlocutor.

In November last year, the United States imported 100 155mm rounds from South Korea to make up for the shortage of such ammunition due to Washington’s support for Ukraine. Then Seoul stipulated a precondition, according to which the end user of the ammunition should be the United States.
