Volcano Shevelokh erupts a column of volcanic ash 6.5 km high.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kamchatka Territory reported that on Wednesday, February 1, the Shiveluch volcano threw out a column of volcanic ash, the height of which reached 6.5 km.

“The column of volcanic ash is spreading in a northeasterly direction towards the Gulf of Lakes, there are no settlements on its way,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there have been no cases of volcanic ash falling on settlements. There is currently no tour group in the area either.

It is noteworthy that the Shiveloch volcano, 3283 meters high, threw out a column of volcanic ash also 6.5 km high on January 19.
