He broke the Premier League record for goals in a single season, scoring 36 times. About the Ballon d’Or:
The Ballon d’Or, established by France Football in 1956, recognizes the best footballer of the year in Europe, based on the opinions of a group of sports journalists. In 2010, FIFA and France Football merged the Ballon d’Or with the FIFA World Player of the Year awards, determined by votes from national team captains and coaches.
