Will Messi move to the Saudi Arabian league?.. The answer of the official representative of Saudi Arabia!
Ibrahim Al-Qasim, secretary general of the Saudi Arabian Football Association, said the federation wants to see Argentine star Lionel Messi in the Saudi Arabian Professional League one day.
Controversy has intensified over the possibility of Paris Saint-Germain’s French star Messi joining Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal after Al-Nasr signed Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this year.
Ibrahim Al Qasem said in statements to the Spanish newspaper Marca: “Until now, we do not know anything about the possibility of Messi moving to the Saudi league, although I do not hide the desire of Al Ittihad to one day see Lionel in the Saudi professional league.”
He added: “The Saudi Arabian Federation is always working to improve the level of Saudi football and of course we would like to see Messi and Ronaldo in the same tournament again.”
And the secretary general of the Saudi Football Association added at the end of his statements on the matter: “But the truth is that we are not aware of the possibility of this at this time.”
The newspaper pointed out that these reports mean that Messi has not yet received an official offer from the Saudi league, and that PSG remain the most serious in renewing his contract.
She explained: “Jorge Messi, the Argentine star’s agent, has arranged everything, and it remains to complete the last details, such as the official announcement, which is not far off, but not imminent either.”
