Moscow, June 10 – Argentine world champion Nicolas Otamendi has extended his contract with Portugal’s Benfica, according to the soccer club’s website.
The contract with the 35-year-old defender, who is the captain of the team, is for two seasons.

Otamendi moved to Benfica in September 2020 from English Manchester City, with whom he twice became the champion of England. Last season, he won the Portuguese Championship with Benfica, previously became the champion three times with Porto, and also won the Europa League. As part of the Argentine national team, Otamendi became the world champion and owner of the America’s Cup.
