Wrestling Unifies the World: Plea to Soften IOC’s Acceptance Criteria for Russians

Moscow, April 4 – The United World of Wrestling (UWW) plans to propose to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to soften the criteria allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international tournaments, Director of the Sports Training Center for Russian National Teams (FGBU TsSP) Georgy Bryusov reports on his Telegram channel.
In particular, the UWW wants to propose relaxing standards for athletes under contracts with military organizations.

In March, the IOC recommended that international federations allow Russians who did not support the special process as neutral athletes to start. At the same time, the organization proposes that athletes associated with the armed forces and security services not be allowed to compete.
