Moscow, March 29 – Volodymyr Zelensky announced his readiness to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Ukraine.
“We’re ready to see him here. I want to talk to him,” Zelensky said in an interview with The Associated Press, adding that he had had no contact with the Chinese leader throughout 2022.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning did not provide information in a briefing about the possibility of a conversation between Xi Jinping and Zelensky, pointing out that Beijing maintains contacts with all parties.

In turn, the Financial Times, citing an EU official, reported earlier that the EU was “pushing” Xi Jinping to talk to Zelensky.
Earlier, the advisor to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that a telephone conversation between Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping may not take place due to some difficulties in their organization. Prior to that, reports appeared in Ukrainian and Western newspapers that Xi Jinping was going to Kiev or promised to contact him after his summit with the President of the Russian Federation.
