Announcement of NHL Rookie of the Year Candidates

Moscow, May 4 – Seattle Flames forward Matthew Penners, Buffalo Buffalo defenseman Owen Bauer, and Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner are among the top three contenders for the Calder Cup, the NHL’s rookie of the season, according to the official NHL website.
Benners is 20 years old, and the American became the top scorer in the regular season among newcomers (24 goals + 33 assists). Bauer, 20, led the regular season among rookie defensemen in assists (31) and points (35). Skinner, 24, leads the rookie goaltender in wins (29) and games played (50), and could become the first Oilers player to win the Calder Cup.

The award winner will be announced at the 2023 NHL Awards Gala in Nashville on June 26. And last season, the German defender “Detroit” Moritz Seider received the award.
