Moscow, February 15 – On Thursday, a Barcelona court will consider a proposal to change the preventive measure for the former Barcelona and Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves, who is imprisoned in a rape case, according to La Vanguardia newspaper.
Alves will not be allowed to attend the court hearing, which includes representatives of all parties. It will be held behind closed doors. At the meeting, the court will assess the defense’s arguments in favor of releasing the football player before making a decision.
Earlier, Alves’ lawyer Cristóbal Martel, one of the most respected lawyers in criminal law, submitted a 24-page document to the court, which guaranteed that Alves would not escape and would remain in Spain until the court’s decision. The football player’s defense was ready to grant the court the use of the electronic tracking bracelet, the confiscation of the passport and the posting of bail.
