House destroyed in Turkey, coffin with human remains found
House demolished in Istanbul, 2,000-year-old human remains found in its foundation
Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News points out that during ongoing operations to modernize and change the environment of the city of Istanbul, an old stone sarcophagus with human bones was found on the floor of a house after its demolition.
After a preliminary study of the sarcophagus at the site, scientists stated that it is 2000 years old and belongs to the Roman era. After that, it was lifted with a crane and then transported to the Archaeological Museum in Istanbul.
