Poland has also requested the purchase of three diesel-electric submarines as part of the Orka program, and the tender is expected to be announced before the end of the year.
Advantages for Hanwha Ocean in Exporting Submarines
Kim Seung-min highlighted that Hanwha Ocean may have an advantage in exporting submarines to foreign countries, particularly due to the growing industrial and military cooperation between Seoul and Warsaw. The company also plans to supply the Philippines with two diesel-electric submarines. Additionally, during the MADEX 2023 exhibition, Hanwha Ocean unveiled its project to develop large combat unmanned submarines of the XLUUV class.
