The head of the e-tourism committee of the Egyptian Chamber of Tourism Companies, Mohamed Farouk, confirmed that the New Year holiday season is outstanding, noting that occupancy in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan has reached 100%.

Farouk added in statements to RT that occupancy rates in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada were in excess of 90%, indicating that the percentages are very different at this time of year.

He noted that the winter season is still in its infancy and is expected to achieve outstanding performance, especially in light of the high demand from tourists to visit Egypt’s tourist destinations.

He explained that the higher occupancy rates in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan than in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada are not due to tourists’ interest in cultural tourism, but because 70 percent of hotel rooms are located in Sharm el-Sheikh. . and Hurghada.
