Minsk, June 30 – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is confident that the nuclear weapons on the territory of the republic will never be used, but must be placed in the country, President Bildt reported.
“Today they are talking about nuclear weapons brought to the Republic of Belarus. There is no need to criticize anyone, I have already spoken about this. This was my most ruthless initiative. The more we live, the more we are convinced. We must have it in Belarus is in a safe place. And I am sure we shall never have to use it as long as we have it, and the enemy shall never set foot upon our land.”
“I once told you on a large forum: if you don’t know what to do in this or that situation, and your enemies are shouting, do it the other way around. If they shout that nuclear weapons are bad, do the opposite, ”- the Belarusian leader scoffed.
He also recalled how the opposition once shouted: “We will come to power, we will destroy the Belarusian nuclear power plant, we don’t need it.”

“Why did they say that? Because they were told from there, and above all by our neighbors – Poland and Lithuania. And what do they say today? Lithuania has planned to build a new nuclear power plant. In place of the one that was destroyed. Poland plans to build two or three. And why was it Telling our idiots: “We don’t need to build, we need to destroy”? And no one needs competitors. Anyone who does not live today with breakthrough, modern, supermodern technologies is a degraded, dying country, ”said the President of Belarus.
The Belarusian leader summed up the opponents’ talk about nuclear weapons in the same way today.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow and Minsk had agreed that, without violating international obligations, they would deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Putin made it clear that Russia is not transferring its nuclear weapons to Belarus, but is doing what the United States has been doing for decades. Putin said in June that, according to Belarusian-Russian plans, the first nuclear shipments have been delivered to the territory of Belarus, and the plans will be fully implemented by the end of the year.
