Russian Government Allocates Monthly Cash Payments to Veterans Without Withholding Social Services: Ministry of Labor
Government to Provide Monthly Cash Payments to Veterans
The Government of the Russian Federation has recently announced that it will allocate monthly cash payments to veterans upon their first request, without withholding a package of social services. This decision aims to improve the support provided to veterans and enhance their financial well-being.
New Procedure for Social Services
The corresponding decision has been published on the website of regulatory legal acts, and it will come into effect seven days after the official publication. The government decree approves a new procedure for providing a range of social services to veterans.
Cash Payments without Withholding Social Services
The recent changes mean that veterans will now receive a full monthly cash payment without any deductions for the National Statistical Office upon their first request. Previously, veterans would receive a monthly cash payment minus the cost of social services. They had to submit a separate application to the Social Fund to refuse receiving these services in kind.
Adjustment of Monthly Allowance
Furthermore, the size of the monthly allowance was adjusted annually on January 1, depending on whether the veteran retained part of the services or completely abandoned them.
Package of Social Services
The package of social services includes the provision of medicines, a voucher for treatment in a sanatorium, free travel on suburban railways, as well as intercity transportation to and from the place of treatment.
