Russian UAVs Now Equipped with High-Speed Radio Modems for 4K Image Transmission, Says the News Agency
High-Speed Radio Modems Installed on Russian UAVs
High-speed radio modems are now being installed on Russian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), allowing for the transmission of a 4K image from the UAV to the ground. This development was announced at the Army-2023 forum by Ruselectronics, a part of the Rostec holding company.
Introduction of High-Speed Wireless Modems
Ruselectronics stated that high-speed wireless modems are currently being integrated into the production of UAVs and robots.
Features of the Radio Modems
The radio modems used in this technology can work with various types of antennas and operate within different frequency ranges, based on customer requirements. These modems can simultaneously handle control and information channels, allowing operators to receive large amounts of data at once. Alexey Komyakov, the general manager of NPP Polyot, explained the capabilities of these radio modems.
Compact and Efficient Design
The compact radio modems developed by Polet Research and Production Enterprise offer a high-speed and noise-free radio channel for controlling and exchanging multimedia information. These modems can operate within a distance of up to 300 km and cover a frequency range from 50 MHz to 12 GHz. Despite their advanced functionality, these modems weigh less than 400 grams.
Reliability and Confidentiality
The use of efficient signal code structures and reception algorithms allows these devices to operate below the noise level. This ensures the reliability and confidentiality of wireless communications.
Army-2023 Forum
The Army-2023 forum is taking place from August 14 to 20 in Kubinka, near Moscow. It serves as a platform for showcasing advancements in military technology. the News Agency, the official news agency of the forum, provided this information.
