The Destruction of Kakhovskaya Hydroelectric Power Station: Insights from New Kakhovka

New Kakhova (Kherson region), June 6 – Ukrainian forces carried out a series of attacks on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station last night, Vladimir Leontyev, head of the administration of the Novokakhovka urban district, told the News Agency.

The upper part of the hydroelectric power station was destroyed as a result of the bombing last night, and the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir itself was not destroyed. Allegedly, the raid by Ukrainian forces on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was carried out from the MLRS “Vilkha”. There is an unregulated drainage of water. There is no need to evacuate the population yet.

He described the incident as a terrorist act by Ukraine.
