Stolen Funds Deposited into Tornado Cash

Funds that were stolen in a previous exploit have been traced to Tornado Cash, a privacy tool based on the Ethereum platform. The exploit occurred on BH Token, resulting in the hacker obtaining $1.2 million USDT, which was later converted into BNB and deposited into Tornado Cash. So far, approximately 1,500 BNB has been deposited into the mixer.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Tornado Cash has been associated with a malware attack. In a recent development on October 19, the hacker responsible for the theft directed the stolen funds to Tornado Cash, depositing a total of 1,500 BNB into the mixing service.

On September 11, Certik issued an alert regarding a wallet linked to over $24 million in stolen cryptocurrencies that converted 600 Ethereum (ETH) worth approximately $936,000 into Tornado Cash. Additionally, Tornado Cash’s founders have faced money laundering charges related to North Korea.
